Gram's Tomato Box

Done! I finally finished Gram's new tomato box today. For good or for bad, I (Tom) designed it myself. It was also my first experience with doweling. Doweling jigs are not all they're cracked up to be (but drill presses are), and I now see why the woodworking hobby has moved on to the biscuit joint.

Here's a look:

I want one for my crop next year! (I'll supply my own little person to stand inside.) Maybe then the little hands that managed to simultaneously harvest and squish my cherry tomatoes this year will be less inclined to mess with them...

Also, here's a school you might be interested in for your boys - looks like it is right up your alley (http://www.thomasaquinas.edu).

Carrie,

I just saw that you wrote this. Interesting. Was it the commitment to classical philosophical learning, or the Our Lady of the Most Holy Trinity Chapel that led you to the conclusion that this was up my alley?

As for the tomato box -- LOTS OF WORK. I'll have to see how much I'm in the mood for a project after graduating. Maybe we could compromise and go for a petunia box?

Love,
Tommy
